How can I find the right bra?

How can I find the right bra?

You may have always taken it for granted, but figuring out if the bra size you wear is really right for you is not easy.

Choosing the right size is a big help in maintaining good posture, avoiding back discomfort, and, of course, supporting your breasts in comfortable cups. Knowing the right cup size for you is the first step in ensuring that your bra always feels good and is comfortable every day.

How do you do this?

Measure your bust at nipple height and your underbust, i.e., the circumference of your chest under your bust, to find the perfect size and cup for you!

The approximate correspondence between centimeters and size is as follows:

  • 65 cm = size I;
  • 70 cm = size II;
  • 75 cm = size III;
  • 80 cm = size IV;
  • 85 cm = size V;
  • 90 cm = size VI.

But let's take it one step at a time.

Below we have compiled some practical tips that we are sure will be very useful when you buy your next bra! These tips will help you choose any bra style: underwired bras, non-wired bras, push-up bras, padded bras, triangle bras, bralette bras, balconette bras, and many more.

Are you wearing the right bra size? Find out in our guide

It's not easy to find the right bra size, especially since every woman has different shapes and needs. There are many factors that can help you determine whether a bra is the right size for you: the back band, for example, the cup, the underwire, and even the straps. Join us as we explore all the information you need to find the perfect bra size and cup for you!

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE BACK STRAP OF A BRA?

It may seem strange, but the back strap of a bra provides 80% of the support. If the back strap rides up when you fasten your bra, you may need a smaller size. Conversely, if it feels tight, you will need a larger size. Remember that the bra band should always remain straight on your body and perpendicular to the floor. To understand which hook to fasten your bra on, consider that three fingers below the band is the right distance!

WHAT ROLE DOES THE BRIDGE PLAY IN THE STRUCTURE OF A BRA?

The bridge is the part of the bra fabric that connects the two cups and helps to support the breasts together with the back band. To ensure that the bra is the correct size, it is important that the bridge rests against the body without being too tight and without the underwire moving. Only then will you be able to see your décolleté well supported and elegant!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF UNDERWIRE?

Underwire also plays a very important role in choosing the cup and size of your bra. What is the role of underwire? The underwire should completely surround your breasts without compressing them.

If you press on the bra and notice that your breasts bounce, the cups are probably too small.

HOW TO ADJUST YOUR BRA STRAPS CORRECTLY?

Bra straps also play an important role in choosing the right bra size.

They should not pinch or dig into the skin, because, in addition to causing discomfort or irritation, they can lead to poor posture over time.

Tip: to adjust your bra straps correctly, leave a gap of two fingers between the strap and your shoulder.

HOW TO TELL IF THE CUP YOU ARE WEARING IS THE RIGHT ONE?

Now let's talk about the element we care about most: the cups. The cup determines the comfort of your bra. To understand if you are wearing the right cup, check that your entire breast is covered by the cups.

If your breasts spill out slightly from the cup, either at the sides or at the top, try a larger cup size.

If, on the other hand, the cups remain open and there are gaps, you will need to try a smaller cup size or a different bra style.

WHAT ARE DIFFERENTIATED CUPS?

Have you heard of differentiated cups? Thanks to differentiated cups, every woman can find the right comfort and enhance her décolleté. How do they work? It's very simple. Starting from the underbust measurement, you can find a “sister size,” which is a size that is slightly different only in terms of circumference.

If the underbust band is too tight, you can increase it by decreasing the cup size, for example, going from a 3C to a 4B. Conversely, if the underbust band is too loose, you can decrease it by increasing the cup size: in this case, going from a 5B to a 4C, for example.

In all these cases, differentiated cups are the ideal solution!

Lovable bras, with differentiated cups up to F, are the ideal ally for every breast, regardless of chest size.

If you want additional help before buying your bra, we suggest you consult our size guide. You will find the measurements in cm for underbust and bust and the corresponding size (from first to seventh) and cup (cup A, cup B, cup C, cup D, cup E, cup F).
